Onboard and offboard audio should now be significantly enhanced from what our players are used to hearing, with a much richer, more detailed and immersive output possible with this sound engine change.Īnother major improvement of our new sound engine is the ability for us to now properly filter between different types of car style within the sim. A huge amount of work has gone into the new engine we will be using from now on, and it has allowed us to really step up a gear and bring forward significant improvements and enhancements, pretty much across the whole audio spectrum. What you see below you is the fruits of many hundreds of man-hours development time within the simulation, and we are really excited to see how our community react to the improvements that have been brought forward for this release – we want another record number of concurrent Steam users alongside this build!Īlthough we are absolutely delighted with what have managed to pull together for this May update, the team are already pushing hard behind the scenes to make an even bigger and better splash with our August drop – rest never stays long in the world of racing simulation development!īefore we get too excited about that, though, let’s take a few moments to go through some of the goodies that form part of the May Q2 Update in rFactor 2…Ī big part of this new update release is the introduction of a brand-new sound engine. Have not done it yet with new UI.Today marks the second of our four planned major quarterly enhancements for rFactor 2 this year, and we hope that you have the opportunity to sit down and enjoy some quality time out on the virtual racetracks with our new build update and content releases. Good luck & welcome to rf2 !!! (this is for the old UI). find what content you want ,click on it and hit 'subscribe' this will auto download & install it easy piezy! and it will auto update any content your subscribed to when ever theirs an update for that content ! find the work shop on the rf2 page in STEAM just click on rf2 in your STEAM games list and scroll down a bit until you see the workshop icon. But I recommend using STEAM workshop to install mods & tracks ! it has 80% of everything for rf2 so far. scroll down until you find the track your looking for 'sepang' highlight it and hit the 'install' button (bottom left ) Done ! everything you place in the packages folder will show up here. Now launch rf2 from the desktop ,It will open to the launcher, when the launcher comes up you will see icons on the left, find the 'open box' icon, (it's the second from the top under the home button) this is your mod manager ,click on this, once it opens you will see all the tracks & mods that are installed. Greg For rf2 go to your rFactor2 dir, default path will be something like C\steam\common\rFactor2 open it up ,in the rFactor 2 folder you will see the packages folder along with all the other folders, simply copy & paste the sepang rfcmp into the packages folder. help!!! I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. I clicked to down load and it looks as if it downloaded 2 files for CMP but the tracks do not appear when I open the game. all is good but I went down to the topics of this forum and clicked to download the track from a user race this forum uses. Ok, just opened rfactor2 after not using it for months.
